At 74, ABBA's Benny Andersson FINALLY Confirms The Rumors About Anni Frid Lyngstad

At 74, Benny Andersson, a member of the legendary Swedish band ABBA, has addressed longstanding rumors regarding his relationship with fellow bandmate Anni-Frid Lyngstad, affectionately known as Frida. The two were not only musical partners but also romantically involved during the early years of ABBA's formation.

In 1970, Benny and Frida began living together, and their relationship culminated in a secret wedding on October 6, 1978, at the Lidingö Church in Stockholm. The ceremony was so discreet that even close friends were unaware until after the fact. Their manager, Stig Anderson, confirmed the marriage, stating, "Yes, it's true. But I don't know any more than that. It is a private matter for both of them."

Despite their personal separation in 1981, Benny and Frida continued their professional collaboration within ABBA until the group's disbandment in 1983. Their enduring friendship was evident during ABBA's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, where they represented the band together.

In recent years, discussions about ABBA's status have resurfaced. In 2021, Benny and Björn Ulvaeus, another ABBA member, suggested that the group had retired, with Benny stating, "This is it." However, Frida expressed a differing viewpoint, remarking, "Don't be too sure!" and emphasizing the unpredictability of the future.
